Tim Grey has written several books and many articles on digital photography and is the author of the Digital Darkroom Questions (DDQ) email service.  His book, Color Confidence, is an excellent one for understanding color management.  His DDQ service is an (almost) daily email where he answers questions submitted by paid subscribers.  However, you do not have to be a paid subscriber to receive the email.  You only need to become a paid subscriber if you wish to ask Tim a question. The ImagePrint RIP software by ColorByte is what I use to print my images on my Epson Photo Stylus printer.  It does an incredible job of printing black and white images with no color cast.  You can download free color and black and white printer profiles for many kinds of papers.  The ImagePrint profiles can only be used with the ImagePrint software.
