Color to Black and White

In the navigation bar to the left are links to the customary methods of converting a color RGB to a black and white image and the Tone Management System methods.

In the Customary Methods section, I describe and discuss the pros and cons of some of the more common methods frequently mentioned.  One method that is not discussed on this web site is plug-ins.  This is because I have very little experience with plug-ins that convert to black and white.  Of those I do, they gave little control to the photographer.
